How do you tell a discount shopper from the regular consumer? There are several traits that will tip you off that someone has a propensity for discount shopping. One of the most important shopping traits is patience. Shoppers who are impatient are not particularly good at finding bargains. The thing about finding a good bargain is that you need a bit of timing. Because there are not sales all the time, you need to be at the store when a sale is actually happening. This requires some planning and research to figure out where the best deals are going to be. The high quality shopper is planner and gets this information ahead of time.
In addition to doing the homework ahead of time, the best shoppers know where to look. This is an entirely different skill. So you can say that the second trait of a high quality shopper is being a bit of a detective. So they essentially have the detective skills and the discipline to follow through and go to the sale. As you can see, discount shoppers are focused people who dont just save money by change. If you feel you are not saving enough money when you shop, perhaps you need to examine both your ability to find the sources where deals are published as well as you discipline to only buy when sales are running. If you can do these two things Im sure you will save a bunch of money while shopping.
